More Uber drivers have been fined and deprived of a license. Police have several similar cases going to court in the near future.

More Uber drivers have already been fined and stripped of a driving license, and from November 25 to January 6, eight Uber drivers have been in Oslo District Court, said the newspaper Aftenposten.

Even before the Norwegian Taxi Association reviewed 105 Uber drivers in late November, Oslo police had 70 cases on the desk, the newspaper said.

Uber cases that the police are now working with all bear the stamp of extensive driving. Police show in their cases to the Professional Transport Act, paragraph 4, which among other things says that “anyone who for payment will conduct national or international passenger transport by motor vehicle must have a permit.”

– That the provision of passenger transport is directed from supplier to customer via web or an application, do not like passenger permissible stresses police inspector Ole Rasmus Knudsen at the Department of traffic and sea service in the Oslo police.

Uber even want an updated regulation, and told the newspaper that “those who suffer the most from the lack of clarity in the regulations, unfortunately are the partner drivers.”
Head of Uber Norway, Carl Edvard Endresen, describes the situation as “a difficult time” for drivers.
