– Gains crime inflicts both society and those who are affected large costs. Combating gains crime is therefore very good economics, says business contact Anne Catherine Gustafson from Kripos.
Micro Marking Technology, according to Kripos, has helped reduce crime proceeds in other countries. The technology means that valuable items are marked with floating microparticles, and the marked objects are registered in an international asset database.

– Police patrols in Oslo have been equipped with UV lamps and handheld microscopes, to read the unique number marking on relevant objects considered possibly stolen goods, says Gustafson.
Three construction sites in Oslo are part of the testing of the method.
