Donald Trump’s lead over Hillary Clinton in a new poll creates turmoil in financial markets. Shares on Wall Street fell Tuesday to its lowest level since the British voted to leave the EU.
Industrial index Dow Jones fell 0.6 percent Tuesday, while both the broad-based S & P 500 index and the technology heavy Nasdaq fell 0.7 percent.
Clinton is generally preferred by markets compared with Trump, which among other things criticized Governor Janet Yellen and international trade agreements.
The market takes into account that a Clinton victory is less likely than before, says Karthik Sankara in analysis firm Eurasia Group.
