The storm in eastern Norway on Saturday has probably led to damage in the amount of tens of millions of kroner.
– It is too early to say anything specific about the amount, but from the amount of inquiries, the amount could easily be tens of millions. Presumably, one could add a zero to the end of the number for industry cost, says Sigmund Clementz, senior communications advisor in If insurance, to news agency NTB.
Saturday, a massive storm flooded basements all over Oslo, Akershus and Buskerud. Cars were stuck, both underwater and in queues, trains stood still and roads were blocked.
55 millimeters of rain was measured at Bygdøy in two hours, which occurs every 25 to 50 years.
