Never before has the exodus of foreign workers has been greater than it was last year, according to new SSB figures.

The recession in Norway has led to high unemployment among foreign workers, and according to Statistics Norway the emigration from Norway last year the largest ever recorded, NRK writes.
3,500 Poles left the country, but a large number migrant workers from Sweden, Lithuania and Germany have also left.
– Within the construction industry, a large proportion of the employees are from abroad . It’s hard for them to get a new job, because things are very tough in the industry right now, CEO of the staffing company Adecco, Torben Sneve, says.
At the beginning of last year 45 percent of the employees  of Adecco were foreign.   Today the figure is at 37 percent.
He believes Hordaland, Rogaland and South Coast have been strongly affected by this. In Hordaland the market dropped by 17 percent last year, according to Sneve.
