Record summer for microbreweries

In the summer 17 percent more beer was sold from microbreweries than the same time last year, according to figures from the brewing and beverage association.
The overall growth in beer sales was 8.6 per cent from the same period last year, writes E24.

– This is the “all time high” for the summer. July was better this year, despite having had two selling days less than last year, says Petter Nome in the brewing and beverage association to Nettavisen. He believes the trend of beer from small producers is no longer just something for those with a great interest in beer.

– Norway is a strange country. When a trend first starts it quickly spreads through the whole community, and is no longer just in a niche. Never has so much beer from microbreweries been sold as is being sold now, says Nome.
