Sale of luxury cars rises sharply

The sale of luxury cars in Norway,defined as cars costing approximately one million kroner and upwards, has grown by 28% so far this year, according to Finansavisen newspaper.

 

The number includes the most expensive electric cars,with Tesla in the lead. Without the electric cars, the growth is 15% show figures from the Road Traffic Advisory Board (OFV).

Finansavisen reported that not all cars in their range cost over one million kroner, but that the cheapest “luxury cars” cost approximately 750,000 kroner before equipment, and soon increase to one million by the time registration arrives.

The growth of 28% to 10,010 cars accounted for 16.5% of total passenger car sales according to the newspaper.
