The oil services company Schlumberger is faced with a difficult market situation and warn of new cuts in their Norwegian operations.

– This will be done through layoffs and dismissals and is done as a consequence of a reduction in the market,  Lianne Olsen, media contact for the company’s operations in Norway and Denmark, says to E24.
The French company  haven’t specified how many positions they are going to cut or the amount of money that needs to be saved.  In Norway  Schlumberger have  offices in Oslo, Stavanger, Bergen and Trondheim, and bases along the coast.
– The relevant trade unions have been informed. Schlumberger does not provide information on the number of employees per department or country, or about contracts and compensation,  Olsen says.
According to E24,  Schlumberger fired or laid off around 400 employees and contracted as recently as last year, equivalent to around 10 percent of their Norwegian staff.
