Several Norwegian flights from Heathrow to Alicante and Malaga are canceled on Saturday. The reason is lack of stand-by personnel in Spain.
– Those who were there had worked for many hours already, so they are not allowed to work anymore. We have sent out an SMS to the travelers, we helped with re-booking and even purchased tickets with other airlines for certain customers.
We are trying to help as best we can, said press officer Charlotte Holmbergh Jacobsson of Norwegian to the newspaper VG.
That this happened on a Saturday that is another popular travel day, makes the situation especially bad, even worse is that it is the first day of the autumn holiday for many Norwegian families. The flights back to Oslo Airport also are cancelled.
– It is always regrettable that these things happen, says Jacobsson.
