There was also a decrease of 0.5 percent from January to February, according to Statistics Norway.
Sales in grocery stores and sales of food and beverages in specialized stores contributed especially to the decrease from February to March this year. Grocery Businesses make up about 40 percent of retail sales.
Stores that sell building materials, furniture and audio and video equipment, as well as sales at gasoline stations also contributed to the decline.
