Prime Minister Erna Solberg gets a bit uneasy when EU leaders talk about continuing as that 27 member countries.

She reminds that there are 30 countries in the internal market.

Thursday, Erna Solberg attended a meeting of European conservative leaders in Maastricht ahead of the EU summit in Brussels.

There she requested her conservative counterparts to take Norway in consideration in the negotiations that are now expected between the EU and the UK.

– There is often talk about how the EU should proceed as 27 member states when Britain exits. I think they need to remember that there are 30 countries in the internal market, says Solberg to NTB news agency.

– They must think about solutions they find, and work for all countries involved, she said.

Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein are all part of the internal market through the EEA Agreement.

Solberg said she received assurance that the EU will make sure to keep a dialogue with Norway.
