On Monday, the Prime Minister, Erna Solberg (H) met Sophia the robot at the technology conference Evry Insight in Oslo.
Sophia has held interviews on several talkshows around the world after she was launched in Hong Kong in 2016. According to the IT company Evry, which organizes the conference, she is characterized by her human traits and recently became a citizen of Saudi Arabia.
The company predicts that Norway must prepare themselves for many robots, to be similar to her, in the future.
“It is time for us, as individuals, organizations and communities, to prepare for the major technological changes we face. This way we can gain more welfare, strengthened education and increased competitiveness for Norwegian companies. It is important to take this step by step now,” says CEO Björn Ivroth in Evry.
The Prime Minister opened the conference in Oslo Monday morning and met the press right along with Sophia and Ivroth.
