Doesn’t seem strange, Prime Minister Erna Solberg  says on the unchanged base rate of the Central Bank.

Governor Øystein Olsen believes there is reason to expect better times in the Norwegian economy a little further ahead and left  the base rate unchanged at 0.5 percent on Thursday.
– The economic outlook is  in some ways worse at  than it was last fall. But if you look at house prices outside of Rogaland, and see that there still is a lot of economic activity in Norway, it doesn’t seem strange that the rate was not lowered now, Prime Minister Erna Solberg (H) comments.
– It may be important not to use up all the tools that can lead to a solution in an uncertain situation like this. The more you lower the interest, the fewer means and tools will be left for you to use if  the situation deteriorates,  Solberg points out to the news agency NTB.
