Prime Minister Erna Solberg believes investment in new technology is more important than taxes to bring down greenhouse gas emissions.

Solberg was a guest at the Zero conference on Wednesday and was again asked about car kits that the government and collaborators are arguing over.

But that fees alone are not enough to save the climate, she acknowledged emphatically.

– Of course it is not monetary terms in fees that are most crucial, we have been saying all along.

There are major technological changes that are essential to achieve this, the prime minister said, referring to government regulations and investments in Enova for example, which should help with developing low-emission technologies.
