Prime Minister Erna Solberg says that we are in for leaner times with less money at our disposal. Now she wants the knowledge society to grow and expand.

– After twenty years with an unusual growth in living standards, Norwegians have to  expect  at least ten years of restructuring and leaner times, Prime Minister Erna Solberg told Bergens Tidende.

On Thursday she will present the state budget for 2017, and is now warning that you can no longer just pour out  money.

– For many individuals this will mean replacing high income jobs with other jobs that do not have the same level of income,  Solberg says.

She says it will also be placed on such welfare technology where it should be fewer staff per patient.

Knowledge and education will also be key, and with more refugees in the country, there will also be more poor children who have to be helped out of poverty, the Prime Minister said.

–  The knowledge society will be a deciding factor in whether Norway will succeed in restructuring. We can never become the cheapest nation, but we can become the smartest.
