Thursday morning, the Norwegian government sold 9.2 million shares in the airline SAS, and got approximately 132 million kroner from the trade.

This means the state’s shares in SAS have decreased from 14.2 percent of the total number of shares to 11.5 percent.

– I am satisfied with the divestiture and the way it happened, Minister of Trade Monica Mæland writes in a statement on the Government’s website.

On Wednesday it became known that the Norwegian and the Swedish state sells 23 million ordinary shares in SAS through an auction process.

This was completed on Wednesday night.
– The government has been clear that the company will benefit from having other owners than the Norwegian government and state and the transaction contributes to this.

The company’s situation and market developments will be taken into account.

We are in no hurry and will remain a significant shareholder in the future, while also being willing to consider industrial solutions,  Mæland says.
