President of Statoil John Knight collapsed on a mountaintop in France Easter Saturday and had to be flown down by a helicopter.
Knight writes in a Twitter message that he collapsed on top of Col de Passon, and he was evacuated by helicopter and flown to hospital. He has stressed that all is well, the newspaper Stavanger Aftenblad writes.
– Sure will be OK, he writes.
On Sunday morning Knight told that he was out of the hospital.
– French nurses and doctors are wonderful. Heat / dehydration, he tweeted.
The summit Col de Passon is situated at 3028 meters altitude at the ski resort of Chamonix, and teh ride to the top gives the skiers spectacular views of the Chamonix Valley.
According to Dagens Næringsliv John Knight topped the wage statistics in Statoil last year, 8.7 million in base salary and 16.9 million in taxable income. This means he earned more than CEO Eldar Sætre.
