Employees of Statoil midst of the oil crisis been notified that they will be paid a bonus of 5.5 percent for 2015. It takes only three months after all were offered severance package.
We do this for an incentive scheme for our employees. We have delivered good results, particularly related to the realignment of the company, so therefore we think this is right, says information director Bård Glad Pedersen, Statoil NRK.
He said that Statoil gives bonuses to employees based on how well they do compared to the competition. After this calculation should employees actually received an overall bonus of more than 5.5 percent.
– Meanwhile, the industry in a transition and a challenging time, and therefore we have taken the bonus down slightly compared with the estimates would suggest, says Pedersen.
The average salary in the group were last year at around 1 million, but the bonus is given based on the basic salary, which is somewhat lower than this.
Statoil had around 29,500 employees at the end of 2015, but not all jobs in the parent group, which bonus applies to.
The company announced in mid-December last year that it has offered severance packages to all employees, for the first time in company history. By the end of 2016, Statoil reduce its workforce by 1,100 to 1,500 employees.
