Air traffic at Avinor airports increased by 6 percent from February last year to the same month this year. Avinor airports had a total of 3,709,601 passengers in February compared with the same month in 2015.
So far this year, the increase in air traffic is at 3.8 percent compared with last year, and the number of passengers has increased for both Bergen Flesland and Trondheim Airport Værnes. In  Oslo Airport the increase in traffic on domestic flights was at 8.8 percent, while foreign travel increased 8 percent.
– The increase was mainly due to growth in the routes between Oslo Airport and northern Norway and between Oslo Airport and Germany, Denmark and Switzerland. The figures also got an additional boost due to the extra day in February, traffic development director Jasper Spruit in Avinor says.
None of the country’s many private airports are covered by the statistics, including Moss Airport Rygge and Sandefjord Torp Airport.
