Three out of five Norwegians said in a survey that they will go to Christmas party this year.

One in three (33 percent) say they are going on a Christmas party, while one in five (19 percent) say they are going on two to three Christmas parties. 36 percent say they have no plans to go on Christmas party this year.

Survey run by TNS Gallup on behalf of the Norwegian Hospitality Association. The proportion of revelers was at the same level as last year.

– Christmas party is still an important Christmas tradition for many Norwegians, but we get signals that more people are choosing a more moderate Christmas celebration than in the past, says Kristin Krohn Devold, CEO of the Norwegian Hospitality Association.

– My impression is that the Christmas parties have become less crowded, says Krohn Devold.

It is still common to have Christmas parties at a public catering establishment.

Six out of ten people choose to have Christmas dinner out on the town. 27 percent will have Christmas dinner at home and 18 percent will have Christmas dinner at the workplace.
