Three months after the last video store disappeared in Oslo, the doors of Trondheim last video parlor have followed suit.

–  The money was in rental and sale of film, says owner and operator Arve Storvestre of Mix RIWA in Heimdal to Adresseavisen. He closes after 21 years behind the counter.

When he started there it was VHS that was strongest, and eventually turned to the DVD and Blu-ray before streaming services made video kiosks redundant.

The other three RIWA stores in the city have already closed, and next week business will also end for Mix RIWA. Storvestre says it is sad that video rentals time is over.

– The threshold for running here are higher.

In late April, video store Video Nova at Majorstuen in Oslo also closed its doors.
