Two out of three trust DNB less after Panama Papers disclosures

The trust in the DNB in the Norwegian population has fallen sharply after the disclosures that the bank has helped customers to place money in the tax haven Seychelles.

In a poll infact made for VG,  67 percent of those familiar with the case responds that their trust in DNB is weakened, and that they have a more unfavorable opinion of the bank after the disclosure of what has become known as “Panama Papers.”
23 percent said their level of trust has not changed after the revelations, while three percent said they now have a more favorable opinion of the bank. Eight percent answered that they “do not know”.
The survey participants were first asked whether they knew of the case concerning Panama’s securities. Only those who answered yes (66 percent), were asked about their attitude to DNB.
– We understand that people react to this , and that people are disappointed. Now we are working to get all the cards on the table and we hope our customers see that we are taking the matter seriously,  Vice President of DNB, Even Westerveld, said .
