In 2015 and so far in 2016 the Directorate of Immigration (UDI) has paid nearly 5 billion kroner to operators of reception centers. The six largest have got the half of that amount.
Dagens Næringsliv has got UDI to prepare an overview of how much money the country’s largest operators of reception centers have received since the refugee crisis began.
Hero Norway is the largest recipient, with 1.46 billion.
– When the state has a need to build, one of our tasks is to strongly mobilize. We did a really great job last fall in providing accommodation for UDI, CEO Tor Brekke says.
– It is highly probable that we at the end of the year will see a fairly large reduction of the reception capacity in Norway. A large build-up is followed by a large reduction. That’s the way it has always been. There is a quite large overcapacity of reception centers today, he continues.
The five other major players, according to the overview are: Link Group (349 million), Norwegian People’s Aid (330 million), Norwegian Receive Operations (178 million), Northern Norwegian Reception Centre (109 million) and Fossnes (96 million)
