Never has the parade been so long, never has the castle square been so full of people and never has royal family stayed so long on the palace balcony in one stretch as the 17th of May this year.
Three hours and a quarter used the record-long children's parade to pass the Palace Square, where the royal family greeted them from the balcony.
After about an hour joined Denmark's Queen Margrethe the royal family, but she followed the parade from a side window with Princess Astrid and other members of the royal family. Also Crown Princess' mother, Marit Tjessem, was among the guests at the Palace this anniversary day.
The Danish regent couple arrived in Oslo on Saturday morning and will stay with the royal couple at Bygdøy royal farm for the weekend.
In the evening on 17 May they participate in a major anniversary event at Eidsvoll together with the Norwegian and Swedish royal couple. Sunday shall Queen Margrethe unveil a monument to King Christian Frederik, who was instrumental in the work of the Norwegian constitution in 1814.
