The King feels sadness and anxiety over the situation in Amenas

King Harald says that his thoughts are with the families in Norway who still live in uncertainty about the fate of their family members and colleagues in Amenas.

The royal family gave Sunday afternoon its first statement in connection with a hostage situation at the Statoil plant in Algeria.

"We have been following the situation of the hostages in Algeria with worry and concern. Our thoughts are with those who still live in uncertainty, both relatives and colleagues in Statoil. We feelsorrow over the killing of hostages from many countries and also relief for our own citizens and others who have come home safely "says the King.
