Princess Märtha Louise awarded this year = Norway Award for commitment to children and people who are on the outside of society.
= Norway award goes to someone who is distinguished by her efforts dignity and social commitment. This year's award goes to Princess Märtha Louise of her public and private involvement over many years, writes The foundation Erlik in a statement.
- Being different, generosity and social commitment are values we cherish in the street magazine industry. These are values that the princess has become a standard-bearer for. As a public figure she gives a voice to the voiceless, and as a person she has shown enormous courage. Therefore, she deserves this award, says Norway = editor Anlov Peter Mathiesen.
The juryamong other things writes that Princess Märtha Louise for years have shown a special commitment to children and people with disabilities. "This effort is particularly important because it is about people who often do not have the chance to perform without assistance from others," said the the reasoning.
Prize awarded will be handed over in Fredrikstad Thursday 22 August. This is the fourth time the prize is awarded, and the final winner was Street Hospital in Oslo, for their work with addicts.
