The royal couple celebrates Christmas at the cottage this year, ushering in the holidays with service in Uvdal church Christmas Eve.
The service was a little slow to start, after the priest was delayed on the way to church because of a snow plow. When the pastor Erik Haualand in Nore and Uvdal could take on today's program about ten minutes after the plan got the church and the royal guests enjoy a traditional Christmas service.
Besides Crown Prince Haakon, Crown Princess Mette-Marit and the three children, was also the Crown Princess' mother, Marit Tjessem, with the royal entourage.
Haualand sermon acted naturally enough about the Christmas story and the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem over 2000 years ago. It was also sung Christmas carols in Uvdal church this afternoon.
