Crown Princess Mette-Marit opened on Wednesday the international photo exhibition «Too Young To Wed 'in Oslo City Hall.
The exhibition is part of the UN Population Fund's disclosure work on girls' health and rights, and thematizes child marriage.
Every day, almost 40,000 girls are getting married against their will, and the exhibition «Too Young To Wed 'tells the story of some of these girls.
According to the royal house sites made the pictures a strong impression on the Crown Princess, who urged all those present to tell their friends and colleagues about the exhibition and create awareness on the issue.
The exhibition has already been shown in New York, Washington, Montreal and Copenhagen. It can now be seen in the Town Hall Gallery until 16 February, before going on to Geneva, Stockholm and Helsinki.
It is the organization Sex and Politics which is the organizer of the exhibition in Norway, in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
