The Directorate for Cultural Heritage has distributed over 100 million to the counties of Norway. The money will be used in the restoration of heritage buildings under private ownership.

Keeping the heritage buildings in good condition, is an investment for the future. We also encourage county councils to provide grants for conservation works under their own budget, the head of the Directorate for Cultural Heritage Jørn Holme, says.
In Østfold nine million NOK will be put aside for strengthening the foundation of Kongsgården Halden this  year. Nordland will get seven million.
The counties of Oppland, Telemark and Hordaland are the ones  with the largest  number of heritage buildings under private ownership, and the counties will get r 13 million, 9 million and 9.5 million NOK respectively this year.
Part of the money will go to the heritage areas in Norway. This also applies to areas who will soon be officially considered heritage areas, like Levanger and Skudeneshavn. In addition, about five million NOK is to be used in the restoration of medieval buildings.
