11,155 people needed emergency passports in June and July

In the first seven months of the year 20,705 emergency passports were issued in Norway. More than half were issued in June and July.

 

“The figures for the summer show that there are still too many Norwegians applying for emergency passports,” said Eli Fryjordet,head of the Common Unit for Foreign Management in the Eastern Police District to P4 news.
In June and July, a total of 11,155 emergency passes were issued,showed numbers the radio channel had received from the Police Directorate. At Gardermoen alone, 1,722 emergency passports were issued.
