13 injured and more than 50 evacuated after fire in Fredrikstad

13 people were injured and over 50 evacuated in a fire of a block in Fredrikstad last night. Altogether 17 people are left homeless after the fire.

Three of the injured are police officers who got smoke inhalation in connection with the evacuation efforts. Nine residents were sent to the emergency clinic, and one was brought to the A& E at Østfold Hospital with burns. The three police officers were also brought there. None of them have got life-threatening injuries.

About an hour after midnight the police could announce that the fire brigade had control over the fire of the block in Teglverksveien 15, which had been reported at 23:40.
A large number of firefighters, police and ambulance personnel   attended the scene when the call was placed.
