The 17-years-old accused of murder breaks the silence
The teenager who is charged with the murder of Sunniva Ødegård (13), finally talks to the police. He was questioned for large parts of Tuesday. He hopefully continues to explain himself on Wednesday.
– We are questioning him right now, and hope to continue doing so tomorrow as well, says Investigator in the Southwest Police District, Bjørn Kåre Dahl, on Tuesday afternoon.
It has been considerable suspense about whether the 17-years-old teenager would at all be accepting questioning since he aborted his testimony to the police one week ago. After that, he has refused to answer any questions from investigators. He is detained in the Bjørgvin Prison, where the interrogations are taking place.
According to Dagbladet, people from The Crime Unit (Kripos) are also partaking in the interrogations.

Many tips
There have been so far about 100 tips coming from the public to the murder investigators and about 50 questionings of witnesses have been conducted in the case where a 17-years-old local at Varhaug has been charged with murder of the four years younger Sunniva Ødegård for a just over a week ago.
The police are still not finished with the questioning of witnesses, according to Dahl.
– Some witnesses may be called upon once more, it may also be interesting for us to talk to persons we have not previously been in contact with as well. This may be based on new information stemming from the investigation or tips from the public, explains the Police Interrogator.
Asks for more tips
On Monday he went out and asked the public for tips and observations in the period from 10.15 pm on Sunday and beyond, from the area Kråkeveien, Mølleveien and down to the place where Sunniva was found dead the night before Monday a week ago. One of the main tasks of investigators is to map the movements of the girl that evening.
– We have so far received about 100 tips in the case. This is valuable information for us and gives us the basis for being able to check the testimony of the suspect and other parts of the investigation, says Dahl.
The indicted 17-years-old refuses to have anything to do with the murder of the girl and has stated that he expects to be checked out of the case as the investigation proceeds. The police, on the other hand, feel that they have found the perpetrator, and seems more confident in their beliefs the further into the investigation they get.
