In the first four weeks in March, the Directorate of Immigration (UDI) registered a total of 271 asylum seekers. Last week  41 asylum seekers came to Norway, almost half as many as the week before.
Only 41 of the 271 who came to Norway in March, are from Syria. The largest group, 45 persons, are from Afghanistan, 25 from Ethiopia and 21 are from Eritrea.
Altogether  920 asylum seekers have come to Norway this year, which is the lowest number of applicants since 1993, when around 900 people came to Norway in the first three months.
The two largest groups this year are Afghans and Syrians, with around 150 people from each of the two countries.
