Across the country, there have been reports of slippery roads and difficult driving conditions. Over the course of a few hours on Saturday night, over 30 cars ran off the road.

‘Cars were spinning in slippery conditions, but there was no injury. A man of 20 years old had damage to his car after crashing into the guard rails,’ wrote police in Agder.

Similar reports have come in every few minutes throughout the night on the police districts’ Twitter feed.

Fortunately, there were no reports of serious injury from any of the accidents, but some people were taken to hospital, or the emergency room, with minor injuries.

Akershus, Telemark and Agder especially experienced several incidents during the night. Meanwhile, the Road Traffic Management Centre warned of slippery roads in Østfold, Hedmark and Oppland.

‘A car collided with the rock wall on Nessetveien in Vinterbro, but there was no report of injuries; mainly material damage to the vehicle. It was extremely slippery at the site’, wrote police in Follo in one of many reports of road accidents in the district during the night.

Police in Telemark wrote shortly after midnight that the Road Administration (Vegvesenet) had sent a signal which slowed the speed limit on the E18. The reason was a spin-out accident.
