47 countries that are vulnerable to climate change, hoping eventually to cut out fossil fuels completely.

The announcement came at the UN climate meeting in Marrakech, Morocco Friday and the negotiations came to an end.

The countries are now saying they will lead the transition to a greener economy and shape the group named Climate Vulnerable Forum.

Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Costa Rica and the Marshall Islands are among those who have endorsed the Declaration.

At the climate summit in Paris last year these countries push for the goal of trying to keep global warming below 1.5 degrees.

Now they promise to update their own climate plans by 2020 and to go over to using only renewable energy “as soon as possible.”
