Police in Tromso have now been given until December 1 to end the investigation against the 22-year-old charged with sexual offenses against a number of children.

The accused has allegedly sent nude pictures and videos of children online while pretending to be a 15 year old girl. He has also allegedly committed physical assaults.

“We are about to see the end of the investigation. Prosecutors in Troms and Finnmark has asked us to terminate the investigation by December 1.

“This seems likely. As of now, there are 67 children who have been covered by the investigation,” said police attorney Elin Strand to news agency NTB.

The investigation has been ongoing since March this year and the indictment has been steadily expanded and by the end of September contained more than 50 children.

The charges also include physical assaults against children under 14 years of age. The 22-year-old has been in custody since March 11 this year. Last week, detention was extended until November 2. The 22-year-old is under letter and visit control.
