Due to many request received, Church being invited to an open hearing on the proposal for a new wedding liturgy which also allows same sex can marry in church.

– There has been an unusually large commitment, says department head at Church Council department for worship, Hans Arne Akerø to NTB.

In addition to the 30 consultative bodies there has been 40 more people, churches and organizations who submitted responses to the consultation when the deadline expired last Thursday.

– There will be an amended proposal presented for Church Council meeting on 5 – 7 October. The consultation shows that there is broad consensus that the draft proposal responds well to Synod decision.

It’s a bit early to say what kind of adjustments can be talked about but minor changes are common when new liturgy is out for consultation, says Akerø.
