A 17 year old boy from Troms has been fined 7,000 kroner for  storing nude photos he got on Snapchat.

The boy had eleven photographs and four video files of underage girls and boys filmed or photographed in erotic poses or situations on his hard drive, NRK news reported.
– Many people think such images are exciting , but they are illegal when those pictured are under 16,  police attorney Marie Lygre at the Lenvik sheriff’s office said.
She says it is illegal to store such images, and that you will be sentenced when it is discovered.

– But the worst thing for him is that this will remain with him for years to come. That he has been sentenced for a sexual crime, will be shown on future police certificates, says Lygre.
The boy has accepted the fine of 7,000 kroner.

Last week, a 21 year old man from Hedmark  was sentenced to 120 days in prison by Eidsivating Court for, among other things having downloaded and shared more than 35,000 images. The photos, which were published without the consent of those who were depicted, stemmed partly from Snapchat.

The crown court stressed in its verdict   the seriousness of locating and publishing, in addition to identifying and cataloguing intimate pictures of young girls, although the girls initially submitted the pictures voluntarily.
