9 men on trial, charged with robbery and violence against prostitutes

Nine men must meet in Oslo district court on Tuesday, accused of gross robbery and violence against prostitutes in two cases from April last year. The case is due for trial this November.

 

According to the indictment, seven of the nine were involved in the robbery of an apartment in Bogstadveien in Oslo on April 24 last year, where one of the accused had agreed to purchase sexual services from one of the two women involved. The defendants are aged 18 to 21 years.

One of the two men pointed a gun-like object to the women, then several of the others came in yelling threats and were allegedly violent. Then they robbed a number of valuables in addition to a large cash sum.

Four men, including two of those involved in the first robbery, were involved in a corresponding robbery in an apartment in Tønsberg four days later.

They allegedly agreed to buy sexual services by phone, then once in person at the apartment, threatened the women with a gun-like object. According to the accusation, one man had tied the hands to one of the women behind her back with tape.

In addition, one of the defendants is charged with sexual assault in a violent or threatening nature, two others charged with drug possession and another for possession of the doping agent Trenacetat.
