Another Russian exercise during Trident Juncture

Russian authorities have informed their Norwegian counterparts that they are planning a further missile test off the coast of Norway while the Nato exercise Trident Juncture is in progress.

The second missile test will take place on November 6th to 9th between 5 am and 7 pm. Avinor is informed by the Russian aviation authority about this, writes VG.

– We are not expecting this to lead to any noticeable consequences for civilian traffic in Norwegian airspace, says Communications Officer in Avinor Air Security, Erik Lødding, in an email to VG.

The exercise will be held off the coast of Finnmark.

From before, it is known that Russia will conduct a missile test in the sea outside Central Norway during the period from November 1st to 3rd.

The large-scale NATO exercise Trident Juncture lasts until November 7th. All NATO’s 29 member countries, as well as Sweden and Finland, participate in the exercise.

The Russian missile tests are viewed as being in the context of the NATO exercise.
