The April this year was by a comfortable margin the warmest april  ever recorded, according to figures from the u.s. NASA.

The figures for the US space administration show that the April this year was 1.1 degrees warmer than the average for April between 1951 and 1981.

According to the British newspaper The Guardian, the figures for April shows that the global heat records have now been  beaten for seven consecutive months.
In addition to global warming, the El Niño weather phenomenon have contributed to the excessive heat in recent months. El Niño means that the surface waters of the Pacific are warmer than normal.
However, this year’s El Niño is not the strongest ever recorded, and the fact that heat records are made so frequently, is worrying,  the Australian climate scientist Andy Pitman says.
