Australian authorities say they will work together with Norwegian intelligence in a case against an Australian who is charged with having worked for IS in Syria.

The father of five, who is a nurse, was on Monday placed before a court in his hometown of Melbourne. It emerged that the Australian Department of Justice will ask Norway for assistance in the matter, reports 9 News. It is expected that an American witness will testify in the case. According to the TV channel US and Norway had knowledge of the nurse, but no information was given as to what Norwegian intelligence may know about the case.
The charges is that the man has deliberately supported the extremist group IS by working as a guard and in reconnaissance in 2014. He was arrested at the airport in Sydney last July. He has allegedly explained that he was forced to join the IS.
