UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon congratulates Colombia with their finalized peace agreement. He also thanks Norway for their support.
– The UN Secretary General congratulated Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos, the FARC leader Timoleón Jiménez and negotiators in Havana for their hard work and patience in this process, a UN spokesman said in a statement.
Ban Ki-moon is also grateful to Norway and Cuba as facilitators in the negotiations.
– Now that negotiations have been concluded, an equally decisive and exemplary effort is needed to implement the agreement. UN Secretary-General requested international support for Colombia in this crucial part of the process, the spokesperson continued.
UN pledges to work for continued and enhanced support for the peace processes, as the organization has done in recent years.
