Base Jumper in Nordmøre body retreived out of mountainside

The French base jumper who’s body has been stuck on a mountainside at Sunndalsøra since Thursday evening was retreived on Tuesday by air ambulance.

The police in Nordmøre stated that the base jumper was extracted at 11:30am on Tuesday.

The 38-year-old was declared most likely dead on Sunday , this  was confirmed by the doctor who sat in the rescue helicopter when the man was located at 1,150 meters up in the mountain.

The man has been missing since Thursday last week and was lying on the mountain for more than five days before his body was taken away.

The 38-year-old is the fourth man who has died and been retrieved from the mountains since 2002, writes Adresseavisen. In August 2002, a man died from Molde, he was hanging on the wall of the mountain for several days. In August 2007, a man from Australia died  during a jump from Langrabbpiken, a neighboring mountain to Hårstad Ebba, and in June 2011 a base jumper from New Zealand was also killed.
