Six of the people killed in the helicopter crash on Friday were residents of Bergen.On Saturday and Sunday the municipality will fly the flag at half mast.
The flag will be flown at half mast at the Old Town Hall and the fire stations in the city.
– Bergen is a town in mourning. Our thoughts are with those who have lost loved ones. All of Norway, Western Norway including Bergen and our neighboring communities are deeply affected by the accident. We all know someone with ties to the work in the North Sea. This is another reason why we stand together in our grief, Mayor Marte Mjøs Persen wrote on the municipality’s website.
Twelve men and one woman aged 32 to 60 years were killed in a helicopter accident at Turøy west of Bergen on Friday afternoon.
