Bishops’ Conference says no to private priests and multi-religious communal prayer

A united Episcopal Meeting says voted no on allowing priests not employed by the church or by the area of the church in question who want to  conduct business in the church to do so.  The Bishops’ Conference also warns against multi-religious common prayer.
In a the resolution that was made public on Friday,  the Bishops’ Conference  that the concentrated priests are supposed to be servants to and for the church. To mix this with commercial activities taking place in the church is contrary to their purpose in the church,  the bishops think.
This means that they that  will not allow  local vicars or provosts to give consent to such priests to administer church events .
– Priests engaged in commercial activities like this, should not be hired as temporary staff in connection with a church service and causualia, since such use could create legitimacy for mixing church activities with commercial activities ,  the decision concludes.
