The entire board of the Islamic Council of Norway (IRN) has resigned as a result of the Board’s dismissal of General Secretary Mehtab Afsar being rejected in a council meeting.

Chairman Ghulam Abbas informed Sunday night that the entire Board has decided to resign because of personal conflict.
– The man issue is that the board for a long period has uncovered serious shortcomings in the work of the General Secretary Mehtab Afsar. These have weakened the reputation of IRN significantly, Abbas wrote on Facebook. The post was later deleted.
The discontent led to the board “after a long process came to the conclusion that it had to fire its secretary general.”
In a council meeting Saturday June 4,  the board informed about the dismissal, but the majority of the council disagreed with the decision and wanted Mehtab to return to the position.
Because of this, the whole board have decided to resign from their positions.
