The conditions of detention for Anders Behring Breivik is a violation of human rights regarding Article 3, the Oslo District Court said.
He was not successful in other areas.
The verdict in the case was handed down Wednesday afternoon and giving Breivik’s claim that atonement regime by the security department in Skien prison is outside the framework of what is permitted by human rights Article 3.
The court believes the regime violates the prohibition on inhuman and degrading treatment. The state, however, was acquitted of violating Article 8 on respect for privacy.
State at the Ministry of Justice is also ordered to pay Breivik legal costs of nearly 331,000 kroner.
