The British woman who was accused of having pushed a cake base with shaving foam towards the head of Children and Equality Minister Solveig Horne, did not meet when the appeal was up in the Court of Appeal.

– She did not attend, and thus the appeal against conviction dismissed, so is the rule when one does not meet. The appeal against the sentence was processed, said the woman’s lawyer, Benedict de Vibe, the news channel stated.

In July the woman was sentenced to 45 days in jail by the Oslo District Court. The verdict was appealed to the Court of Appeal where prosecutors on Tuesday upheld the claim of 45 days in jail.

The defender said in court that the penalty should not be stricter than it initially was for the man who threw a pie at then-Finance Minister Kristin Halvorsen (SV) in 2005, ie 30 days.

– She has served 30 days already, and was released even though she was sentenced to 45 days in jail. The question was whether she would have 15 new days, says de Vibe, adding that the verdict will take place shortly.

He says the woman was obviously not in Norway, and he does not believe she has stayed very much in the country since she was released.

The incident happened during the Oslo Pride Parade Saturday 25 June. According to the indictment the woman raced against Horne, before she pushed a cake base with shaving foam towards the head of the minister.
