A survey of the emissions from 19 cars shows that they on average emit 40 percent more than that the amount stated by the manufacturers.

The organization International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) is behind the survey, discussed in the magazine Teknisk Ukeblad. They have compared the emissions in “the real world” with the official results from the standardized European driving test NEDC used for type approval.
The survey shows that cars that were examined on average emitted 40 percent more CO2 than the stated amount. According ICCT a third of the difference is explained by the automobile manufacturers exploiting weaknesses in how the official NEDC test is put together.
